Glencoe & Rannoch Moor

Glencoe,  there are very few locations in the world like this place.  Glencoe and the surrounding Rannach moor offers everything a landscape photographer can imagine.  From closely packed mountains, wild flowing rivers, enchanting glens, castles and beautiful highlands Croft’s.

Surround yourself within this landscape and the creativity is endless, all that you have to do is find your compositing, sit back and wait for the Scottish weather to provide the conditions,  conditions that constantly change.

During our time we will visit many of the iconic locations but it’s important that we don’t rush to cram them all in, but wait for the right moment and produce quality photographs with the best light available.

With most locations just a short walk from the A82 road that runs parallel with the river Coe. We will explore the many lochs and Lochans (small lochs), walk up the neighbouring hills to capture the iconic Buachaille Etive mòr (if the weather allows), visit the surrounding waterfalls and so much more.

From the towering peaks of the 'Three Sisters' of Glencoe. To the valley that is enclosed by the dramatic ridge of Aonach Eagach and Stob Beinn a Chrulaiste.

There is such a wide range of locations to work with, we will find a subject that will work well whatever the weather.

The trip will be over 5 number of days, allowing us to cover the above locations.  We will set off early and visit our morning locations before the sun starts to rise.  We will make the most of the day visiting the best location and retuning to a key location to capture the sunset.  But it’s also important to explore the local watering holes and fantastic food.

Our accommodation will be self catering, giving us the freedom to come and go as well please, only returning to re-energise for the next day.  Evening meals will be provided and menus will sent before the workshop.  I will also be able to cater for those with dietary requirements.  The morning breakfast will be a relaxed buffet style, I can assure you, you will not go hungry during our time.

The trip is catered to all levels, whether a complete beginner, or experienced photographer. All tuition is tailored to each individual.  Prior to the workshop, I will send our a questionnaire that will help me what it is you are looking to achieve or if there are any areas that you would like help or advice with.

As we are a small group of just 4 people, this means I can be on hand to help you with anything from getting to know your camera, learning about filters, to understanding how to read the land and light.
